THE new top nurse at Hereford County Hospital is Sue Hardy.

Her appointment as director of nursing and quality was confirmed by chief executive Martin Woodford, who said she was a professional with high standards.

Sue came to the hospital last year as head of midwifery and women’s and children’s services before taking over as acting director of nursing in the summer following the departure of Helen Blanchard to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Sue has performed nearly all her nursing in the Midlands, specialising in midwifery.

She said she was delighted with her new appointment at Hereford County Hospital.

“Quality, leadership and recognising and responding to patient needs are integral to my approach which I am confident will deliver an improved patient experience. I will continually seek to ensure that patient safety and high quality care is represented at board level,” she said. Read more
