A CARE home nurse accused of abusing an elderly patient has been suspended from practice for 18 months while an investigation into the allegations is carried out.
Diane Grattan, 70, is alleged to have locked a frail, elderly woman in a room and used a strap to restrain the patient.
She is also alleged to have adopted covert techniques to get the woman to take her medication.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) heard on Wednesday that the nurse had been working at Chantry House in Saxmundham when a concerned care worker complained that Ms Grattan had abused the vulnerable resident. Read more
