A NURSE threatened to rip off her ward manager’s head and told an elderly patient she would have been put down if she was a dog, a hearing was told.Julie Thompson, 44, of Redcar, appeared before the Nursing and Midwifery Council yesterday accused of bullying colleagues and patients. The senior staff nurse faces a series of charges dating back to 2003.Jayne Graham, a ward manager at the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton told the hearing: “We were working on ward 43, which has 16 beds and cares for the young chronic sick and complex long-term rehabilitation patients.
“Julie’s appraisal was set for May 13, 2003, but that day she had come into the ward unhappy with something and was causing an atmosphere. At lunchtime, I asked her if she still wanted the appraisal to take place. Read more
