The Opposition is maintaining pressure on the Western Australian Government to address the shortage of nurses in the regions. Figures released by Health Minister Jim McGinty show the mid-west shires of Northampton, Mullewa and Three Springs are each short of two nurses.

 

Opposition health spokesman Kim Hames says the Government needs to provide incentives to attract nursing graduates to areas such as the mid-west.

 

“Part of the problem again with nurses and teachers and police is getting people out into those rural areas,” he said. Read more…
